Legendary WKNR DJ Scott Regen had a particular knack for connecting with listeners. So much so that, even with Keener's deficient nighttime signal, The Head Burger owned one in four radio listeners during his timeslot.

Johnny Randall has created this website, highlighting some of the greatest Scott Regen moments during his Keener career.

Scott Regen,

If you happen to come across these lines I just want to say, here's a special 'thanks you' for all those memorable WKNR moments you shared with us on Keener 13.

Certainly, you left an indelible and lasting impact with many of us who never forgotten who Scotty Regen was, and personally, the 7PM to 10PM time-slot on WKNR radio was, for the most part that Dearborn radio station became an integretal part of my youth... it was during those teenage years, I began to listen to the SCOTT REGEN SHOW (in southwest Detroit, a scant 4 miles away from the WKNR studios) from June 1965, thru 1968.

Naturally, today it is what it is.

And while WKNR may have become a distant memory to some, the name Scott Regen is synonymous with the image instilled in our minds and hearts of the legend WKNR has since long become. And Scott Regen was just one good reason why we came to so love Keener 13.

Again, I thank you... Scotty Regen.

I could not have said it better. I've heard the best DJs of the rock and roll era at their peak, from Alan Freed to Dick Biondi to Chuck Leonard to Dave Hull to Tom Shannon. And I would concur that nobody but nobody ever graced a microphone with more intelligence, innovation, personality, charisma and passion than did the great Scott Regen.

I have said that in my professional career that WKNR remains to this day my greatest inspiration. More specifically, their back to back to back slots by Bob Green, Scotty and J. Michael Wilson represent radio at its absolute peak. And although this is really, really splitting hairs (given the magnitude of talent at hand), of those three, Scott Regen is simply the best there ever was and ever will be.

God bless Scott Regen! And thank you, Scott for the indelible impression that you left upon all of us. More than 40 years after the fact, you remain the standard of excellence in radio.
