Detroit News:

If you have one of the new Apple iPhones, you can listen to WRIF-FM (101.9) 's audio stream through your phone anytime, anywhere, with one simple click. 'RIF's corporate parent Greater Media made audio streams of several of its radio stations available from the first day of the iPhone's launch last week, with more stations set to go online with it within weeks. Of the Detroit cluster, WCSX-FM (94.7) and WMGC-FM (105.1) will be available via the iPhone next, within a week, says Tom Bender , Detroit-based senior VP/general manager of Greater Media Interactive. Bender says it's all part of an ongoing process to make radio relevant in a digital world.

"I can remember when it was convenient to carry around a transistor radio, or later, a Walkman," Bender says. "The contemporary device for that kind of convenience is the cell phone, so it's incumbent on us to make the product available to the listeners however and wherever they want it, rather than getting them to carry around another device" ... iPhones make listening to radio convenient (Thu, 7/17)
