looking for a artist

The only way I can describe the artist is that he or they I'm not sure if solo or duo or group (sorry) But they sounded like a aged Everly brothers. I heard the song at a hooters in Texas. And if my memory serve me correctly the song said mean girl won't you be my friend (or will you,can you) or sad girl won't you be my friend.(or will you,can you) the only thing else that I can desribe is that when the chorus came around that I was finding myself wanting to sing Cathy's clown by The Everly brothers because the two songs had a similar beat. I found last fm a site that lets you here songs and played all the Everly but to no such luck on my part.Any help would be greatly appreciated
